RONALD MCDONALD CHARITY EVENT
Another day, another charity event, you know how OCO do!
There is nothing that is more important than our children, they are the future! When we started the process of figuring out our next charity theme, there was so many awesome suggestions to choose from. Naturally, when we were made aware that we could make a difference in some kid's lives - we hopped on that opportunity quickly.
We reached out to the Ronald McDonald foundation and were told that they needed stuffed animals for their sick patients, we promised to gather enough for EVERY single patient and then some. The stuffed animals that were left over would be distributed to different branches that were also in need.
These events take a ton of work and every time, we want to make sure the upcoming event is better than the last! We started reaching out to vendors in the community to gauge interest in donations to the cause. It was a very positive response we received back, it was refreshing. We want to take a second to go ahead and thank these vendors for donating to the cause...

Our events have gotten earlier & earlier, not the start time, lol the attendees arrival time! Our event didn't start till 10AM but at 7:15AM there were already 10 rigs waiting at Cabe Toyota for parking. It is humbling to see such support in the community for what we are doing. As we arrived we started the rigs started piling in, by 8:30 AM the main lot was at full capacity. The side lots and the one across the street were now starting to be utilized. It was an awesome mix of rigs, the whole ZR2 gang was in attendance and it was really cool to see them all roll in together!
We had to start the raffle booth at 9:45 due to the line already getting too long (which is a great problem to have). The girls on the OCO team have managing the booth down to perfection, everything moves quickly & smoothly. The raffles this time around were some of the best we've ever had, it seemed people were really excited about it. What is even more awesome, is that we had a hand full of people come to donate and not enter any raffles. They just wanted to come support a good cause and give back however they can, shout outs to those people!!!!
These events are always awesome, in the fact that there is so many rad builds to geek out on but the BEST thing about these things is the PEOPLE! Bringing together the community, hanging with old friend & making new ones. These events help build those relationships with likeminded enthusiasts, we just want everyone to connect and to be able to hit trails together!
Time truly flies when you're having fun, it was already lunch time by the time we checked the clock. At our events, we keep everyone fed, on or off road!!! This time around it was pizza - 25 of them! People always ask if there is anyway to receive multiple raffle tickets so this time around we wanted to make sure we had a few opportunities for everyone to take advantage of. As 11:00 o'clock rolled around we held a watermelon eating contest lol, it was awesome! We had 8 contestants join in, everyone who entered win or lose received a ticket, the winner however, gets 3 tickets! As the 8 people line up around the table we dropped a bomb on them, YOU CAN'T USE YOUR HANDS! It was definitely fun to watch, after the watermelon eating contest we did a quick coke chugging race! Anyone who thinks this is easy should try doing it at home, its tough, especially when its ice cold! Everyone seemed to really enjoy watching, it was hilarious.
It was almost time for the raffle and we wanted to provide everyone with one more chance to get an extra ticket. We hid 10 wooden Oc Overland chips around the lot, on tents, tires, & sliders. If you found one, all you had to do was bring it to the raffle booth to claim another prize. It was really cool to see everyone walking around on a little scavenger hunt, the kids were getting involved and seemed to enjoy this the most!
By 12:00 Noon it was time to run the raffle and everyone gathered around the booth. We got through all the items quickly and tons of people walked away with some epic prizes for donating just a few stuffed animals. After packing up all the donations it took 7 rigs packed completely full to bring it all home, 7!!! The stuffed animals filled an entire two car garage with no space to walk, in was a sight to see!!! We really appreciate everyone coming out and showing love. This community doest surprise us anymore, this seems to be the expectation every time from all these giving individuals.
We will be getting a tour and donating directly to the Ronald McDonald foundation sometime next week, we will keep you all updated!!!!!
Thank you again for lending us your time and supporting an awesome cause! Until next time, we hope to see you all again!!!!
